The Research Committee of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences (RC-FAHS), University of Jaffna, serves as a standing committee of the Faculty Board of the FAHS and is responsible for all matters related to research within the faculty. The committee is reconstituted every two years and meets regularly, every two months, to review, guide, and strengthen research activities. The committee also supports the enhancement of research capacity among staff and students of the FAHS by organizing workshops, training sessions, and other research-related events.
Key Activities
In 2025, the RC-FAHS evaluated and made recommendations on more than 25 research publications for the staff research allowance, and also supported the evaluation and recommendation of research proposals submitted for the University Research Grant 2025. Furthermore, it established a Student Club, which conducts monthly student research talks. The committee has also successfully developed Students’ Research Guides for undergraduate students across all three disciplines of the faculty and made them available to the students.
